Avon Breast Cancer
3-Day
Kenosha to Chicago
June 14 - 16, 2002
Judy Prevost
1937 - 2000
My name is Diane Stewart (the cute little one) and I am going to participate in the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day, 60-mile walk from Kenosha, Wisconsin to Chicago, Illinois on June 14 - 16, 2002. My mother, Judy Prevost, died from breast cancer at age 63, in November, 2000, just 2 years after her diagnosis. It is in her honor that I take on this challenge, but I walk with hope for the future for all women and their families.
Mom would have had a better chance for long-term survival if her cancer had been detected early. There is yet no way to prevent breast cancer, so treatment in the early stages is crucial. The focus of the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade is to raise money to be used for research, and to provide clinical care and support services to women with breast cancer who otherwise would not have access to such care. I know that many of you have also been touched by this disease and I am asking you to please contribute to this very worthy cause so that other lives may be saved.
If you wish to contribute, please go to the donation page and follow the instructions given there. Please take a moment to send me an e-mail so that I may thank you personally. While you are visiting my web page, please check out some of the features of the page, including a few photos, the guestbook, and the diary that I plan to update in the training days to come. I appreciate your support.
As we go through the times and memories, we laugh and miss you even more. You would just sit, listen and laugh. Occasionally firing a torpedo yourself, but mostly just loving the noise. You will always be with us and we'll make sure to be loud enough for you to hear it with us and laugh and enjoy. You will always be part of the fun because you will never be far from our thoughts and hearts.
